Spider Plant in Bloom

I got this plant from the CMSD high school formerly at the Washington Park Horticultural Center. Every year they have a big plant sale in the spring where you can get beautiful house plants, garden plants, and seeds. This was one of the plants I got and now it is blooming! I’m so excited about this.

Spider plants are pretty tough, versatile, and very easy to grow. In addition to being pretty, they help keep the air fresh in your home Did you know that they belong to the asaparagus family?? I had no idea. Technically they are edible as they are completely non-toxic to people (and dogs and cats so pet-friendly) but still not reccomended as a food source for us. Eating them can cause digestive upset up to and including vomiting and diarrhea, both of which are disgusting and horrible to experience so don’t eat them.

These spider plants are so easy to take care of and they really help purify the air. Great for any room!
